Summer Reading

I've been reading quite a bit these past few weeks - mostly murder mysteries, some not very good, some ok, but i have yet to find something really spectacular.

This is a strange book; i've been plowing through it, and it is taking me awhile to get through - but it is kind of interesting. The author is William J. Palmer, and it was written in 1990.

Anyway, if anyone has some suggestions of some good murder mysteries for me to read, could you please tell me them.

Thanks.

It depemds what sort of murder mysteries you like. Old fashioned ones or modern ones. Nagio Marsh did old fashioned ones.

Actually, mon Kapitano, i like either, at least i think i do. I have exhausted Agatha Cristie so don't suggest her...but anything else is worth a try. If i don't like it i will simply go back to the Library.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Have you read any Jonathon or Faye Kellerman, or James Patterson ... they are always good. As is Sue Grafton (although not actually a murder mystery ... very good reading anyhow). Kathy Reichs, Lincoln Preston ... many more.
Have a great week.
Take care, Meow

James Patterson rings a bell - i think i saw the name in 2005 when i was thinking about going to the Writers' Conference that is held every year here in Surrey...Sue Grafton also sounds familiar.

Thanks, i will make a note of these and take them to the library when i next visit there.

you have a great week too,
cheers for now,

I don't read murder mysteries often but my favourite holiday reading for years has been Dick Francis. Sometimes there's murder, sometimes not, but always a page turner!

oh yeah, andrea i think i have read most of the Dick Francis novels. My mom is a huge fan of his, so she used to give me all her books when she was finshied with them. I used to enjoy them, but i find the "Leading Man" a bit of a, um...let me be nice ...a opinioned big-head, he just comes off a bit full of himself, otherwise i quite enjoyed the mysteries. And i really like the horsey theme!
